When you leave the ferry terminal, turn right onto Mitkof Highway and travel 9 miles along the scenic Wrangell Narrows to The Trees RV Park & General Store. If you arrive in the middle of the night, please make yourself at home and we will see you in the morning.

inside the storeWe offer a total of thirteen RV sites. Seven are full service sites with water, power and septic and six sites have water, power and a communal dump station on site.

We have laundry facilities, clean restrooms, hot showers and the convenience of a general store on the premises. Our general store is stocked with the essential groceries & snacks including ice, ice cream, cold beer, espresso, etc.

Use our RV Park as your base camp as you explore the surrounding Southeast wilderness. We have 140 miles of road, an accessible shoreline and numerous trails to use on Mitkof Island. Take in scenic vistas of surrounding mountains, water & glacier views, and our abundant wildlife of bald eagles, local black bear, moose, Humpback whales and Orcas, Sitka black-tail deer, sea lions, seals, hummingbirds, porcupines and the occasional wolf.

After your day of exploring our beautiful island feel free to sit on our country style porch, enjoy a cup of espresso and visit with other world travelers.porch image

During your stay with us you may want to tour our town of Petersburg. Our Southeast Alaska fishing community is known as "Little Norway". Petersburg is not only "the town that fish built" but is noted for it's Norwegian heritage, which is displayed throughout the local decor and celebrated every year as Little Norway Festival on May 17th.

our happy guestsDowntown Petersburg has a visitor's center with a wealth of information about the area, lovely gifts shops filled with local and Alaskan artwork, and a museum filled with our town's history. For more visitor's information and to learn more about the town of Petersburg and Mitkof Island visit our Chamber of Commerce web site.
